The Italian brand Ceramica Francesco de Maio has acquired an exclusive right for the reproduction of Blu Ponti, a collection of thirty blue-and-white majolicas conceived by Gio Ponti in the 1960's. Originally, these authentic decors were elaborated for Parco dei Principi, the world's first design hotel in Sorrento.

Remarkably, the decors are formed and painted by hand using the traditional technologies, glazing and shades employed in the times of the legendary maestro. No wonder that the successors of Gio Ponti have chosen this manufacturer to revive the amazing majolicas. Since 1990, Ceramica Francesco de Maio is a registered holder of Antiche Fornaci D’Agostino (formerly Ceramica D’Agostino) headquartered in Salerno. It was there that the architect used to come in the 1950's-1970's to grasp the art of handmade majolica, and it was there that Blu Ponti tiles originally came to life.
