Komon by Made a Mano is a beautiful collection of majolica tiles from Sicily. Here, the designers derive inspiration from the traditional motives of the Japanese kimono. Komon is a breath-taking kaleidoscope of 18 patterns, each of which is available in 35 colors. The items are manufactured either of glazed terracotta, or of lava stone. There are three variations of terracotta tiles produced: the items formed and treated by hand (CM), the mechanically polished tiles (CI), and the tiles with structured surface (CS). The items made of lava stone are available either with smooth (PLL) or with antiqued (bush-hammered) surface (PLA). The tile sizes depend on the source material. The large-size items of 60×60, 30×90, 15×200 cm are produced exclusively of lava stone, whilst the standard pieces of 10×10, 20×20, 30×30, 20×40 cm, etc. are offered in the five versions (the fusion of production method and surface finish). It should be noted that sometimes, either in production, or in use, craquelure may form on the tile surface. However this is normal for glazed terracotta and lava stone tiles.
